Laure de la Chapelle is devoted to her craft and to making sure her clients are pleased. I am delighted with the twin love seats and the wing chair she restored to better- than- new condition. I had such an amazing upholstery experience with Laure! My vintage leopard print couch started with a tattered bottom and a little dipping on one side. She also noted it was a 1950s-60s couch, when I was told it was just “vintage” and possibly from the 1980s. Not only did educate me in the furniture and the methods she was using, she left the bottom looking brand new for an extremely reasonable price (as I live by myself and am a student). She quoted me a great price as well for a full renovation in the future which I will absolutely be using her services for 🙂 She was timely, extremely professional, explained everything she was doing and was overall genuine and fabulous at her work. I would refer to anyone who has any upholstery needs!

Laure did a fantastic job restoring our antique chair, even as far as using horsehair and webbing instead of springs for the seat, after having the split joints repaired for us. She is delightful and knowledgeable to work with, did lots of research, and found suitable, lovely fabric that really fits the piece. She returned a chair that is far better than the last restoration performed who knows when!

I highly recommend Laure. I am looking forward to having more of my antiques restored with her.

Laure did a beautiful job on both my antique dining chairs and my well-loved but very stained crate and barrel sofa/chair/ottoman. When she discovered the chairs were damaged to the point of being unsafe she referred me to a colleague who repaired and fumigated them, then did a marvelous job helping me select the right fabric, and presenting me with heirloom chIrs that have a modern air thanks to her reupholstery techniques. Laure is efficient, attentive, responsive, and always meets her commitments. Her work is first-rate and will last a long time thanks to her expertise. Plus she is a pleasure to deal with. I would definitely use her again and have recommended her to many friends who admire my “new” furniture. Thanks Laure!

Laure is an excellent craftsperson who puts a great deal of time and thought into her work. I brought her 4 metal chairs that I could not figure out how to reupholster, and she did a very nice job. She also re-upholstered a table base for us and it looks great! I continue to bring her other pieces of furniture since she does such an excellent and thoughtful job. Her prices are reasonable for the amount of time and effort she spends. I’m very glad she is in Imperial Beach!
